Kappad Beach is located 16 km away from the main village town Kozhikode. This beach is one of the most spectacular beaches of Kerala. Other than marvelous scenic beauty the beach is also famous for a significant historical event as the Portuguese sailor Vasco da Gama ended his long sea journey and landed on the Kappad on 27th May 1498 and this invention created a new trade route between Europe and India.
