Kalakshetra: it is a famous center for dance, music, arts and crafts. It offers education in traditional dance, music and art. It extends over an area of 100 acres at Thiruvanmiyur.

Fort St. George: it was constructed in 1640. It has tall walls, wrought irons gates and deep moats. It is a home to Fort Museum, St. Mary's church, and Town Hall.

Film City: it is a hot favorite spot of the tourists. It has one restaurant also in its complex.

Government Museum: this museum hosts archaeological section which reflects all the major South Indian periods including Chola, Vijaynagara, Hoysala and Chalukya. It has a bronze gallery also which houses a collection of Chola Art. In its compound you will also see National Art Gallery.

St Andrews Church: in 1821, it was built. It boasts of blue dome bedecked with gold stars.

Kapaleeshwarar Temple: this temple is consecrated to lord Shiva. It features elegant gopurams, mandapams and a tank.

Little Mount Church: it is a small cave where St. Thomas was believed to have lived. You can enter this cave through Portuguese church built in 1551.

Chennai War Cemetery: built in 1952, it is a tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in the Second World War.

Chennai is truly dotted with countless tourist attractions. The list is never ending. Although some of the places have been listed here but still there are many which you can get to see on your travel to Chennai. However, amidst all these and others, do not forget to visit the famous Marina beach.

How to Reach:

Air: Kamaraj Domestic Airport and the Anna International Airport are located at Tirusulam. These are at a distance of 20 km from the city.

Rail: The main railheads are Madras Central and Egmore. However, it is well connected with all the other major cities also.
