Introduction on Peermade: Located 85 Km away from the city of Kottayam, Peermade has a pleasant clime year round making travel to Peermade convenient and also pleasant. If you are a wildlife fanatic, then your best bet of sighting some tigers, elephants, sambar, bison, and many other species, is by visiting the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. There is also a flower garden at Pattumala which will be well worth your while. Among the spectacular cascading waterfalls are the Meloram, Nallathanni, Panchalimedu and Valanjamkanam; while the best hill trails can be found at the Peeru Hills, Kalthotti, Vagamon, Karandakapara Hills, Grampi and Memala. The Sahyadri Ayurvedic Centre is a popular wellness center in Peermade.
How to reach Peermade: Taking the road route is your best; as not just is it comfortable, but it is also quick. Bus services are readily available from Kottayam, Thekkady and Kumily. |
