Located in the north-eastern region if India, West Bengal is a state is well endowed by nature. From mountains crowning the north of the state with an estuary and the Bay of Bengal lapping its feet, the state sports a diverse variety of landscape, as well as bio diversity. The largest mangrove forest of the world, the Sunderbans, is located in the estuary region of West Bengal; it is the most important wildlife sanctuary in West Bengal and is called the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve. The other major wildlife sanctuary in West Bengal is the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary in West Bengal. |
